Teresa Chinn MBE is a registered nurse and social media specialist. Teresa founded @WeNurses Twitter discussion group in 2012 as she found herself isolated from the nursing profession following years of agency nursing. Since then the WeNurses Twitter community has gone from strength to strength amassing over 65,000 followers from all over the world and the model has been duplicated for other groups of healthcare professional. Teresa has worked with organisations such as NHS England, the Department Of Health, Public Health England and the Nursing and Midwifery Council around using social media as a professional resource. Teresa has a passion for the use of social media in healthcare and believes that through connecting health care professionals can learn, develop and support one another. Teresa received an MBE for Services to Nursing in the 2015 New Years Honours.
Vanessa is a registered mental health nurse, who worked for many years as a Nurse, Manager and Professional Lead for nursing within NHS and the independent sector. For the past three years, Vanessa has worked independently through her company, Sociable Angels Ltd of which she is the Managing Director. Vanessa has worked on a number of innovation, improvement and transformation programmes across the health and care system. These have included Primary Care Improvement Programmes and the Prime Ministers Challenge Fund Programme: Improving Access to Primary Care. Recently, Vanessa has co developed and delivered a pilot programme for Practice Managers as Change Makers within the Yorkshire and Humber region, as part of her work as a Leadership Associate at Yorkshire and Humber Leadership Academy, Health Education England. Vanessa is also currently supporting the Co Creation Network, as part of her leadership development work there.
Vanessa has a strong interest in digital technology within health care and runs @WeMHNurses which is an online Twitter Community for Mental Health Nurses and those interested in Mental Health.
