Julie is an independent dermatology nurse and educator. In 2008, she set up her own company, JVO Consultancy – education in dermatology. Current work involves developing and producing dermatology educational projects on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry, the NHS, universities, professional and patient groups. These include interactive digital education programmes, patient education (including self-management), advisory boards, lectures, workshops and dermatology service development. She also publishes widely in the health care journals.
Julie’s clinical work is at Oxfordshire PCT Dermatology Clinic. She also works for the National Eczema Society, one day a week. Julie is on the advisory committee for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Skin and joint clinical editor of Dermatological Nursing, journal of the British Dermatological Nursing Group. Julie is passionate about improving dermatology care and support for people with skin conditions through developing educational initiatives for both health professionals and patients.
